Pick up After Your Pet

If you think picking up dog poop is unpleasant, every time it rains, thousands of pounds of pet waste wash down storm drains and into streams, rivers, and lakes. If not disposed of properly, pet waste flows directly into nearby streams and creeks without being treated at wastewater treatment facilities.

Tips

  • Always use a bag or scooper to clean up your pet's waste.
  • Poop left on the ground washes into local streams, lakes, and rivers.
  • Dog droppings are a leading cause of E.coli pollution in local waters.

Do your part. Scoop the poop to keep our water clean!
